Of course he knows. They sign contracts years in advance they just can't talk about it but like with North every once and a while info slips out by accident. Sony is big time hurting for money. They have been in the red for nearly a decade now and another Last of Us is a guaranteed sales success. They HAVE to make it.

Why do you think Sony has been so big on remakes? They know people love them and will buy them and they are cheap to make. Especially since for the last 2 years of the last gen the consoles were being pushed so hard games suffered either from frame rate issues or visual issues. Definitive editions are cheap ways to fix those issues. Literally all they do is rewrite a little bit of code, bump up some settings and the compiler takes care of the rest. A team of just a few people could port a last gen game in a couple months. You can't beat that. We are talking low end indie budget with high end AAA sales.

The problem is you are wasting resources that could be working on new IP which is exactly what's happening at sony. Hopefully 2016 shapes up better game wise than 14 and 15
