I’ve had the same problem. Makes me doubt I’ll buy another pair. They have poor plastic that cracked above the earpiece as you’ve said.

Both pair have broken in the same place just above the ear cups on both sides. It starts as small stress cracks and then on day snap. Definitely needs to go back to the drawing board on the head band design. Other than that which is a deal breaker the rest is pretty much as the article states
