Both companies wanted to break even on hardware.Right now Sony is making money off of the Ps4 hardware. The Gpu used in the Ps4 isn't a 7790 Gpu more on the lines of an 7850 which at the time of release was a midrange Gpu.My issue is the Cpu isn't powerful enough.Which in many ways is actually bottlenecking the Gpu.Also try to build a $400 Pc...right now it can't be done even with low end hardware you have to add in the Os.

So you believe the guy who just got done telling you 60fps doesn't matter when he talks about how 1080p doesn't matter? Or do you just think that somehow proves the point?

It doesn't, not in either case.

The reality is native resolution IS better. Just like 60fps is better. And since sub-720p, sub-60fps is what dominated last gen even after the promise of last gen was 1080p gaming, then I don't think it's too much to expect real 1080p gaming this gen from supposedly "advanced" consoles.

Except they can't do it. PC gaming does it all the time, though. Again, on both fronts except when developers forcibly hobble the game to keep it from showing the consoles up, that is.

A problem here is your refusal to accept the REAL problem that causes all these compromises you try to be okay with.

That problem is not the developer or the game. It's the consoles you're trying to defend as acceptable. They're subpar, they were weak out the gate, and for the first time in 3d graphics history, PC gaming was actually way ahead of consoles even before they launched.

For every OTHER generation, consoles had a 6 month lead on PC gaming. Not this generation. And it wasn't because PC gaming had just gotten so far ahead of consoles, either. PC graphics tech has stagnated. The real reason is because Sony and Microsoft (don't even bring up Nintendo) cheaped out, not pushing the ragged edge like they have in the past.

They went for what was affordable and cheap. AMD was more than happy to oblige them their netbook CPU and 7790-esque hardware, which btw isn't even a MAINSTREAM-level GPU.

So what do you really expect from this gen? If you want to game, the choice is clearer now than it's ever been: Game on PC.
