Ubisoft Doesn’t Plan On Releasing Another Assassin’s Creed Game on Vita

Next you'll be telling me we won't be getting another Call of Duty on it either.

Ubisoft was one of the most high profile supporters of Sony’s PlayStation Vita, supporting it with the exclusive, made from the ground up, Assassin’s Creed Liberation right off the bat. It was a major coup for Sony, as it fed the image of the Vita as a premium handheld device that delivered the console experience in your pocket, and also led to some co-branding and bundling deals. Of course, all of that came to nothing, as the game flopped spectacularly, just like most games on Vita. It was later ported to the PC and consoles.

So it sort of follows that Ubisoft won’t exactly have plans to support the Vita with another further exclusive game, which is what they have pretty much come out and say now, although of course, their comment was a lot more diplomatic: “Nothing’s planned at the moment for such a game but we’ll keep you posted!”

I mean, considering that Liberation was actually pretty damn awful, I’m not sure I want to be posted, but… yay, I guess?
