Ubisoft Fiscal 2012-2013 Sales Expectations Surpassed, Sales Targets Revised for Full Year

To the tune of €1.2 billion no less.

Thanks to the success of Assassin’s Creed 3, it’s biggest title in history, and critically acclaimed FPS Far Cry 3, Ubisoft has reported increased sales by 23 percent for €802 million ($1 billion/£684 million) in revenue for the third quarter.

While Assassin’s Creed 3 sold a staggering 12 million copies, Far Cry 3 sold about 4.5 million copies. Both sales totals include digital download and physical retail units.

CEO Yves Guillemot stated that, “Fiscal 2012-13 is a real turning point for Ubisoft. Our performance fully validates our long-term choices and the large-scale investments we have been undertaking for several years now, with a sharp ramp-up in games for core gamers and notably our strong comeback into the major segment of shooter games.”

Guillemot claims the company now holds a market share in the US and Europe to the tune of 11 percent. In light of its success, Ubisoft now expects about €1.2 billion for the full year along with profits in excess of €90-100 million ($133 million/ £85.3 million).

Guilletmot also stated that Ubisoft will continue its dominance and gain ground in new markets thanks to “an even stronger offer for core gamers and continued robust momentum for free-to-play games and digital distribution”.
