Ubisoft has announced the opening of two more development studios in Europe. One will be located in Bordeaux, France while the other will be based in Berlin, Germany. Both will be focused on AAA game development for multiple platforms.
According to Ubisoft, both studios will “plug into a global network to work collaboratively with teams around the world.” Utilizing local talent “enables us to offer more opportunities to skilled graduates and industry veterans in those regions, who in turn will help our highly skilled teams in the development of some of our biggest franchises,” says as per Christine Burgess-Quémard, who is executive director of Ubisoft’s worldwide studios.
While the Bordeaux studio will work with teams on games like Just Dance, Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Steep, Ubisoft Berlin will be working with Blue Byte (of Anno fame) on an “unannounced AAA project”.
