With Sony recently confirming their launch plans for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in the Chinese market, the hardware is finally there. The next factor of the equation was, of course, games, and as with every major launch for the last decade or so, Ubisoft will be headlining PlayStation’s Chinese launch in a big way, with marquee titles on the PlayStation 4.
Stephanie Perotti, Executive Publishing Director for China at Ubisoft, presented during the press conference and said, “Ubisoft has been present in China for more than 17 years, as the Chinese gaming community has continued to grow and evolve. We place great importance on understanding and delivering the kinds of games Chinese players want to play. That’s why we are excited to partner with Sony Computer Entertainment to bring some of our best games and major franchises to PS4for our Chinese fans.”
The two major titles that Ubisoft will be launching with are Rayman Legends and Trials Fusion- notice the lack of any ‘violent’ games, the same as on the Xbox One. This implies that the Chinese government certification problems are real, and might end up holding back the PlayStation lineup the same as they did for the Xbox One.
We’ll keep you posted on PlayStation’s Chinese exploits.
