Activision must be pretty happy with Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – according to Gfk Chart-Track, the first person shooter is the number one selling title in the UK as 2016 begins. Thus far, it’s creeping up on FIFA 16’s record for most number of weeks at the top.
Star Wars Battlefront, meanwhile, is in second place and has proven to be a strong performance since its launch in November. According to various analysts, the game may have already sold more than 12 million copies, part of that success being attributed to The Force Awakens’ release. EA hasn’t officially confirmed these sales numbers yet but it’s hard to deny Battlefront’s continued success.
Meanwhile, Fallout 4 remains in third place followed by FIFA 16 and Grand Theft Auto 5 which made its way back into the top five. Rainbow Six: Siege, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Just Cause 3, WWE 2K16 and Forza Motorsport 6 round out the remaining top ten selling games in the UK to start off 2016.
