The latest UK game charts courtesy of Gfk Chart-Track are now available and as noted yesterday, Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 emerged on top in its debut. Not only is it the fastest selling Far Cry title in the franchise’s history but it looks to have the biggest launch for the first half of 2018.
Aside from that, FIFA 18 moved up to second place from fifth while Rare’s shared world pirate adventure Sea of Thieves fell from first to third. Despite numerous problems, the Xbox One/Windows 10 title has been very successful for Microsoft. Subsequent updates are planned that will address issues like spawn camping, end-game content and much more.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is surprisingly in fourth place, moving up several places in the process. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is in fifth followed by Call of Duty: WW2 in sixth (up from 13th last week). Hazelight’s co-op adventure A Way Out has dropped to seventh place with Assassin’s Creed Origins, Forza Motorsport 7 and Grand Theft Auto 5 rounding out the top 10.
