UK Game Charts: FIFA 14 Beats Call of Duty Ghosts for Top Spot

Ahead of Christmas, the usual suspects maintain their spots in the UK top ten.

Though Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Ghosts has been on the top of UK software charts for weeks now, EA Sports’ FIFA 14 has managed to capture first place ahead of Christmas according to the latest UKIE game charts courtesy of Gfk Chart-Track.

Ghosts is still in a very place sales-wise at second place, and it’s followed by Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Despite numerous troubles that have emerged, DICE’s Battlefield 4 is at fourth with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes maintaining a spot in the top 5 at fifth place. Grand Theft Auto V, Just Dance 2014, Need for Speed: Rivals, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition make up the remainder of the top 10.

Gran Turismo 6 continues its plummet, placing in 11th. That’s still better than Forza Motorsport 5, which is at 15th place. Inexplicably, Aliens: Colonial Marines is at 20th place ahead of several high profile next-gen exclusives. Your guess is as good as ours as to why.
