UK Game Charts: Mafia 3 Sets Sales Record For Franchise

Sales up 58.7 percent over Mafia 2.

2K Games’ Mafia 3 arrived on October 7th (Friday) but still managed to make a strong impression in Gfk Chart-Track’s weekly UK sales charts. The open world title managed to set a week one sales record for the series, selling 58.7 percent more than Mafia 2 which debuted in august 2010.

It still lagged behind FIFA 17 however which continues to sell well in its second week. Forza Horizon 3 is in third place followed by Grand Theft Auto 5 and Rocket League. XCOM 2 is enjoying is a fairly decent position at seventh followed by Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 at eighth (and sadly not doing as well as FIFA 17). Fallout 4 is in ninth place with Minecraft: Xbox Edition in tenth place.

With Gears of War 4 out this week for those who didn’t buy the Ultimate Edition, it could be interesting to see how the charts pan out. More releases are due later this month including Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Skyrim: Special Edition, Civilization 6 and so on so stay tuned.
