UK Game Charts: Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain Retains Top Spot

Despite falling sales and Super Mario Maker's debut, Kojima's stealth epic stays on top.

Despite the debut of Super Mario Maker in second place, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain continues to reign in the UK according to the latest games sales charts from Gfk Chart-Track. Sales have fallen 78 percent in the past week so it will be interesting to see where Kojima’s epic will stand when Forza Motorsport 6 debuts.

Avalanche Software’s Mad Max is in third place while Disney Infinity 3.0 managed fourth. Until Dawn actually dropped down to fifth place while Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is currently in sixth. Grand Theft Auto 5 celebrates a good 100 weeks in the top ten chart since debuting for PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. LEGO Jurassic World, Minecraft: Xbox Edition and Minecraft: PlayStation Edition wrap up the remaining spots in the chart.

It should be worth noting that PS Vita platformer turned PS4 remake Tearaway Unfolded debuted at 33rd place.
