DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront is off to an excellent start in the UK – according to Gfk Chart-Track, the multiplayer shooter sailed to the top of software charts on its debut.
Along with becoming the fourth biggest launch of the year (just behind Fallout 4), Star Wars Battlefront is on its way to being the fastest selling PS4 non-sequel title ever and is already the biggest launch for any game in the Star Wars franchise till now, besting previous top-seller Star Wars: The Force Unleashed by 117 percent in sales.
The rest of the top ten is fairly typical – Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is in second place with Fallout 4 falling to third. FIFA 16 is in fourth, followed by Rise of the Tomb Raider in fifth place due to a 37 percent drop in sales. LEGO Dimensions, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Minecraft: Story Mode, WWE 2K16 and Need for Speed make up the rest of the top ten.
