Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games Will Leverage The Hardware’s Potential and Capabilities, Nintendo President Says

As long as Nintendo doesn't lose sight of the goal.

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most versatile and flexible pieces of technology ever; what it lacks in hard grunt and processing power, it makes up for in just how well it lends itself to so any different use cases. It is stuffed to the brim with all sorts of interesting technologies and features- and it seems like many of these will be leveraged in many upcoming Switch games next year.

Speaking in an interview (via Nintendo Everything), Nintendo’s President Tatsumi Kimishima said that many Switch games coming next year will leverage the unique hardware, such as the IR camera, HD rumble, and motion controls. It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean all Switch games will do that- just that Nintendo is planning on launching at least some games that offer “new ways to play” for an expanded audience.

I can only hope that Nintendo doesn’t lose sight of the fact that it was core games such as Zelda, Mario, and Splatoon that propelled the Switch to success in the first place; however, with announcements like Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime, and Pokemon, it doesn’t seem like I need to worry much in that regard.
