The only time I can remember a console doin sumthin like that was the extra ram pack 4 the N64. Don’t think it went over that well, but u needed it 2 access all the features of perfect dark I remember.

Yeah it would split the market which would make it hard 4 game devs. & I think it would b 2 complicated 4 the mass market.

In reply to doub7. maybe, but wouldn't be crazy if they treat the ps3 like apc where we can update its video card ourselves? that would be neat but then again how would that effect the games.

Well when the PS3 dropped it was as powerful as any PC available. But that was in 2006 & PC tech takes quantum leaps evry couple of yrs. This will prolly b outdated by the time they design the new consoles.

every time i think we reached the limit of whats possible, something like this appears and make me think when is it going to reach the limit.

700!?! I think I would rather buy a PS3 move bundle & a 360 Kinect bundle. But if I had Justin Bieber money I would totally get 1…& play Crysis 2 on it.
