DX 12 Doesn't mean much..... API's are only useful if used by the developer. It may optimize the hardware to push it another 5% further in performance (thats only a guess, probably less than 5%) and make things look better, but only if used by devs, and only if they optimize it correctly (ex: crysis 2..... ran dx11... worse performance ever... just as bad as gta 4 performance because devs didnt optimize the port correctly and over tessellated everything. And kept the OVER TESSELLATED ocean rendering even when the player was quite far away). I'm neutral on consoles and PC so don't call me a fanboy.

P.S. remember that most devs are still stuck on dx9/10 and only very few have made dx11 games, even if dx 12 is there, it doesn't mean developers will ever use it.

Well it was obvious, what piece of tech under about 6-800$ could run those lighting effects, water effects, shadows, shaders, resolution, framerate, AI, game world and so on, pretty sure a PS4 and XBOX ONE put together couldn't handle that load (not hating, just stating a fact, actually want all three 7th and 8th gen consoles)

Sure but that's assuming the PS4 won't have any API upgrade advantages in the future, which it will have of course. You didn't specifically say it like that but many people honestly think the PS4 will be static software wise while the Xbox One runs past it, which is silly.

First of all I never called you "F-ing Dumb". Secondly, I don't think Ray Tracing is trademarked. It's essentially a graphical tech, someone could have developed a package/set of tools that when used together make it easier to implement or maybe easier on the hardware (like Unreal Engine, or Crytek)... but I don't think "Ray Tracing" itself is trademarked, although I could be wrong.

I never called you f-ing dumb, I was just trying to save you from the grief you would no doubt receive from our more "tech savvy" community members.

And to clarify from earlier I guess yeah I shouldn't have said that PS4 "couldn't" do Raytracing. But there hasn't been confirmation from Sony that it can. Yeah it has better hardware than Xbox One but maybe Raytracing is a TM'd graphical process that the person who created it doesn't want to partner with Sony and is partnering with Microsoft. I obviously don't know but don't call me f-ing dumb.
