If MS released the Xbone X at the same time as PS4-Pro I think more people may have been interested, but MS releasing Xbone X this late into this generation knowing Xbone has the smaller user base when compared to PS4 might be a mistake especially when MS’s own Xbone-S up-scales to 4K for £250 less.

Example..

Lets say that 20% of PS4 gamers bought PS4-Pro ( 1 in every 5 PS4’s sold would be PS4-Pro ) and 25% of Xbone gamers bought into Xbone X, PS4-Pro would still sell more due to the larger user base yet people just can’t see that.

Until next gen we as gamers will not see devs truly taking advantage of 4k hardware within consoles. Both PS4 Pro and Xbone X are just steps in the right directions.

Huge step up, in fact the Slim S model is a great machine and is what M$ should have lead with. Would have meant Sony had a chalange on their hands. Instead M$ did what they alwasy do, relsease a poorly designed nasty piece of plastic.

Which leaves us where we are today….M$ in deperation to keep users bring out an unwanted machine which will only be picked up by very small user base.

I would say it’s a big step up from Xbone base models, but what Digital Foundry mentioned in their video was Xbone X will not allow all the GPU’s 6TF boost to be used for enhanced games ( 3TF will be used ) from what I made out from it. ( see video )

And that all 720p and 900p Xbone games will need patches for higher pixel counts which are left up to devs just like it is on PS4-Pro.

It’s just a slight step up also it’s not a huge jump. NOw ulinke Sony who had the PSVR coming out and wanted to give extra push of grunt for this, it made sense.

But now what is the point, spend a few extra £ and you get a OTT PC, which can do 4k 60fps. Plus they can do all the othert work you use PC for.

I can only see childres getting thses via parents, I domn’t see alot of adults paying over hard earned cash for slight improvement.

The important thing to remember here is at the end of the day it’s still an Xbox One. If someone disliked the Xbone before, they’re not suddenly going to like it just because of the increased power of the console, otherwise we would have seen the PS4-Pro outselling PS4 base units.

Xbone X still plays the same games as the original, and has all the same exclusives *or lack of them* and for a much higher price than their own Xbone-S models ( Approx-£250 difference )

When having the fireworks night last night I asked my mates who is getting the Xbone X…. No one replied lol. They are all staying their Xbone-S. A few of my mates said they might get the Switch though.

Yeah and in mine and vast majority belivee best performing console is PS4, it has higher install base, larger and wider selection of games.

I was having a chat with 2 mates who own 360’s but didnt bother with the X. Neither actuly purchased PS4’s which i used to alwasy joke about with ’em……..well they both say they’ll be getting the new Xbox, but are gona leave it atleast 6 months for the rpice to come doan and games to be relased. I see this as the sensible UK consumer. Which is why M$ have released such limited stock here in UK. We just dont really want it.

Lets be honest I can’t see everyone running out to grab the Xbone X can you?

We know that PS4 Pro accounts for 1-in-5 PS4s sold, so I can’t see Xbone doing any better than PS4-Pro being honest with Xbone’s user base being much smaller than PS4’s.

If power was everything we would see PS4-Pro outsell the PS4, or we wouldn’t have seen the Wii outsell the 360 and PS3 last gen.

I just think that Xbone-S / PS4 / Nintendo Switch & PS4-Pro will be seen as the better option than a £450 console so late into this gen.

I don’t know why Sony can’t seem to get it right with the design of their consoles, the first version always looked best then it just gets worse looking and feeling cheap, it’s totally the opposite with Microsoft with their designs getting better with each iteration.

people will always gravitate to the best performing console, apart from diehards that is.
