In reply to <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/why-destiny-should-fear-biowares-next-mass-effect#comment-251965">a boy and his blog</a>.

I can't speak for you but as somebody who prefers 3person vs 1st person I can say ME has a great combat experience and the MP For 3 kept me playing for over a year. - It just may not be what 1st person players are used to as there is alot more focus on using cover, grabbing and vaulting vs dogfighting. Though from an immersion standpoint, real combat isn't seamless, you can't just fly from guy to guy taking bullets and be fine.

That said the two games shouldn't even really be compared. They don't have the same game mechanics... like at all, besides guns. They are completely different genres outside of "sci-fi."

Its funny that you say you could run the same old stuff all day long... that is exactly why I quit Destiny (personally). No gameplay in the world can make me want to fight the same 6 bosses over and over but again to each his own.

The reason Mass Effect will win 9 out of 10 times with players is for its narrative and gameplay combined, there is no sacrifice for one or the other. It seems in Bungie's case the goal was to provide the most watered down FPS experience possible while removing any tangible story and hiding it online in grimoire cards.

That said I want my remaster trilogy as well (hopefully with a new wave of ME3 MP and its events to take 100s of hours more of my time).

Also to the author in regards to the last paragraph... ME3 MP had challenges/bounties added in on its final update but the rewards for completing them were arduous to obtain and were only banners.

The only way Mass Effect could challenge Destiny is if the shooting improved to Destiny's level.
That is the addicting part of Destiny. It just plays so smooth that you can run the same old stuff all day long.
I would love it if ME could do it though.
And where the heck is my re-mastered trilogy already!!
