Whoa man. Maybe ur right. Let people use it or not. Let the feature sell itself or hang itself. Don't know how I feel about it. But listen, Microsoft's Live servers may not be free.........perhaps greatly reduced in price compared to a self run infrastructure. Respawn was saying something like this, the deal between them and MS.

But check this out bro. We know Yager is using Live for dedicated servers on X1 version, not sure about PS4. But listen to what Respawn said about what Microsoft allows "We can upload new programs for them to run and they handle the deployment for us. And they'll host our game servers for other platforms, too!"

So does this mean Activision and all these other 3rd party studios have the same access?! And why not use them, if they could run the PS4 version too?!

Me and a friend actually tested it out yesterday and the results were OK but not great.

Obviously using it uses resources so you lose some frame rate even on the local system. Shadows of mordor was running at about 20fps. We tested it with some 60fps games and it worked fine.

The big issue was quality. I have 30mbps upstream so my friend got good picture quality and reasonable latency. He said games were playable for the most part but he had issues aiming in ground zeroes and killzone.

Then I tried playing one of his games, he has 5mbps upstream. Totally unplayable. Video quality on my end was awful. It was worse than a 240p YouTube video. I couldn't make out any detail at all. Its odd because his twitch streams are OK so whatever codec they are using needs some work.
The point of all this rambling ties into publishers disabling the feature. I don't see many people using it once the cool factor has worn off so maybe they should just let people do it. Its not am optimal experience by a long shot.

You are right COD can be beaten quickly so I get why they disable it. I beat it in about 4 hours so that's a couple sessions. I could probably do it in less if I tried and skipped cutscenes.

Yeah I heard one could beat COD in a couple of SharePlay sessions lol. It's a cool feature for PS4 owners, but I do want these studios to get back every dime, seeing what's happened to CryTek and all. Again, to what extent will some guys abuse SharePlay and actually beat campaigns, is the question for me.

Personally I have no problem with their statement above. SharePlay does drop picture quality and frame rate (which is understandable), so any Publisher that wants to either test it out in various game modes is fine by me. Yes Activision milks the heck outta COD. But regardless, it is their product they own, and if SharePlay takes away from the experience they want to sell, even on accord with performance, I won't blame them.

And to be straight up, we don't know if they actually tested SharePlay yet. Who knows, maybe they'll add it.

Activision is stupid. Flat out stupid. Advanced warfare uses p2p multiplayer like every other COD. The problem is at least on Xbox one every game has access to FREE dedictadd servers. Every single one...free...forever. So for Activision to gimp the Xbox version of multiplayer to give it parity with ps4 is absurd. I get them not wanting to pay for dedictadd servers on ps4 but its free for any Xbox game. That's why I won't buy any dlc for this game and next week when halo comes out and uses dedicated servers I'll be playing that instead.

The answer should be obvious to anyone with a brain. No big publisher wants people sharing games ESPECIALLY if its a diminished experience like PS share. If you made a game would you want a single copy to supply a bunch of people via sharing? Don't make money that way.

I imagine most publishers will lock down sharing until sales have long since peaked.

I haven't had any problems with cod aw I got the x1 version this time but do own a ps4 and got ghosts on it last time ...i think activison hasnt figured out how to work the sharing of a multiplayer session and how that affects peer to peer matchmaking, or they just dont want to let folks play free when they can go buy it and find out, I am sure folks at companies like ea and konami feel the same way especially for games with smaller profit margins ...maybe sony should observe a small window of time in which new releases are locked out (similar to free movie passes for two week old movies)...i love aw fun game ....ps im a real gamer too i play D.A, diablo, and all manner of games other then movment and rhythm based titles
