Correct. When PlaySTation is dominant the whole industry is prosperous.

I always have seen Playstation as the console brand keeping balance.

Just look at the PS4 as the article explains. You may not like Japanese games or Playstation at all, but it’s a very important console. It gave Japanese devs more insurance and confidence to push their games on home consoles again. Many were unsure during the PS3 era because it cost too much at first but it got better and better. I always smile when I can have something crazy like Onechanbara and Neptunia alongside my copy of Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4 soon. So different yet can co exist.

The PS4 is restoring the balance between the east and the west as we speak. Japanese games are flourishing coexistence with western games.

An exclusive is only great to a person if said person is actually interested in the game.

Whats best…..Forza or Gran Turismo? My answer is “I don’t care”. Neither hold any interest to me regardless of how great they might be received by critics and gamers alike. It don’t matter if they look photo realistic and run at 1080p and 60fps or win Game of the Year awards.
I am still not interested in those types of driving games. Give me Grand Theft Auto and then we are in business 🙂

What is actually a great game is very subjective. Just being an exclusive does not automatically make it brilliant to everyone……and it certainly wont make every owner of that system go out and buy it.

Nearly any Nintendo fan you see on the internet will no doubt praise Mario to the high heavens. That gives the impression all Nintendo gamers love Mario.

The truth is actually the opposite when you look at the Nintendo 64 statistics. Approximately 67% of Nintendo 64 owners across the globe did NOT buy Super Mario 64. Only 23% of N64 owners bought Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

People tend to make this false common assumption that exclusives represent the wants of the overall majority.

Utterly correct. And this is why PS4 will dominate this entire generation. It’s on the snowball effect.
