The Wii U is using a 2gb GPGPU with 1gb being dedicated to streamlining and handling certain CPU functions and the other 1 gb dedicated to graphics. This allows them to have a slower CPU while allowing it to still be fast and efficient.

This is an article that is all over the web now where the headline is that the wii u has a poor cpu and the closing statement from the person saying it says it is capable of much better graphics than the others.

I know this is because of the GPU but isn’t this just the same quote as the tekken guy about the clock speed being low and it is being used by PS and XB fanboys to make out the wii u is rubbish.

My Core i5 processor has a lower clock speed than my old AMD sempron but I know which one is better. Can’t wait to see the real benchmark scores!
