Nintendo Network will not be shipped with the launch systems, Nintendo has said. Instead you will have to download it and the update is something that will blow your mind. It’s reported that the system will have a 5GB initial firmware update which will add the Nintendo Network to the system.
Geoff Keighley tweeted that and also mentioned it will take a lot of time to download it, but that depends on your connection.
“The Wii U firmware update is apparently about 5 gigs. No wonder it takes about an hour+ to download,” he tweeted.
This is absurd, but we do not know whether the system deletes the update after installing like the PS3, but if it does you should be free of the downloaded update. However, it is reported that a 8 GB Wii U system will have 3 GB left after the install, which tells us that, you need to buy a bigger HDD space and the update is mandatory.
Some people are saying it’s 1GB, so take this with a pinch of salt. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
