Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the Wii’s successor is slated for release this year in all the key markets. Now, I assume that means US, EU and Japan – and not India (obviously).
The main benefit of releasing the machine is to enjoy the massive holiday sales, and it undoubtedly gives a good boost to the install base.
The devkits are already out and it remains to be seen how the third-party and first-party software support will be for the machine. E3 2012 is shaping up to be spectacular.
