Wii U – “You can plug in a full-on 3 TB hard drive if you want” – Reggie

"I'll love you as a digital consumer."

Looks like Wii U will have expandable memory. In case you aren’t up-to-date with the news so far, the basic set of Wii U will feature 8 GB storage, and it is expandable, according to Nintendo.

They have mentioned why it isn’t included by default and want to give consumers all the options to put whatever HDDs they want.

“You can plug in a full-on three terabyte hard drive if you want. I’ll love you as a digital consumer,” NOA CEO Reggie Fils-Aime told Engadget.

“The reason we did it that way is that the cost of that type of storage memory is plummeting. What we didn’t want to do is tie a profit model to something that’s gonna rapidly decline over time. We’ll let the consumer buy as much as they want, as cheaply as they want,” he added.

This is good news as far as I am concerned. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
