If you want to see a good Free to play game, look at Command & Conquer Tiberiam Alliances as that game is free if you choose not to pay money in to it, but you can if you want to and all it does is allow you to store more ingame resources but again you don’t need to do that unless you want to.
Free to play can be very good as it means only the people who like it will pay the developers any money for the game, and those who don’t like don’t pay anything it is basically like playing a demo that never ends.
If you don’t like free to play that’s fine but not every free to play game is bad and demands you to pay money in to it.
