The PS2 controller did not have a battery. Go and look it up! Yes the controllers have never been known to stop holding a charge, but go and look up the physics of electrodes. The same thing happens with lithium-ion batteries which are in the PS3/PS4 controllers. Have you heard of wear and tear? Every time you charge a lithium battery a small percentage of the capacity will be lost. It builds up over an amount of time until the battery can’t hold the charge. Try to learn physics and chemistry next time. Also, who told you that the PS2 controller had a cell in it, or did you buy Chinese knock offs?
