I agree, and would venture pc already has the ability to outperform consoles by large margin.
That Gulf will increase dramatically as time goes on and the current gen inevitably falls behind.
The only solution to the console pc divide in lieu of a time machine would be easily modifiable consoles, I envision something similar to the modifability of the Moto phone, with new iterations of processors, gpus etc optimized for the console and being released regularly at annual or semi annual intervals.
But then that is why we have pcs anyway.

Resolution will always be an issue, however frame rate and texture quality are beginning to slowly favour the Xbox over the PS4. Regardless, PC will soon outperform both by a ridiculous margin.

The link only mentions the timing of releases, however it Doesn't state that that is all included there in.
I hope your right about D12 I've heard the hype, hope, and those that think it just hype and hope.
I have already seen a few games that play at higher resolution on ps4 though, and have yet to see that go the other way.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/10/11/xbox-honcho-phil-spencer-wants-to-rethink-the-parity-clause-acknowledges-gamers-high-expectations/
Phil clarifies what the parity clause entails. It's all about release date's and not the kind of parity you're thinking of.
The only reason people think forced parity is an issue, is primarily thanks to Ubisofts.famous parity speech. Which was likely to keep the Xbox back with the PS4. The other issue comes from too many parrot's thinking Sony has given them the equivalent of a NVIDIA Titan for a GPU, when in reality the GPU is old hardware and attached to a mobile CPU.
Forced parity (thanks to time and financial constraints the PS3 forced on every publisher and developer) existed last gen, but this gen is an entirely different beast. We've got both boxes running in the PC environment now, which requires less technical trickery, and more of a paradigm shift. GDC this year is going to be the big reveal for DX12, X1 and the CPU/GPU vendors. All the of the guys on the inside a jumping out of their skin to let the cat out of the bag (not "insiders").
Hopefully Sony won't be left to far behind PC and X1, forced parity seems a thing of the past. That theory is based on the fact that the X1 has improved at an disproportionate rate when compared to the PS4, which has gotten better but is now seeing cutbacks to maintain their "1080p" line. But hey we will find out for sure where they all stand in a couple of weeks time.

Then you do have a kit?
I'm sure this dev is just hating to hate and his personal professional experience has nothing at all to do with his comments here.
Many, Many devs have publicly applauded sony's approach to indie's this new gen. While a number of others have said the opposite of Ms.
This is the truth of the matter.
By the way unless you have experience going through the channels you mentioned and acquiring a devkit for the purpose of indy development on Xone, it must be you that is acting like a intelligent donkey.

With due respect I was replying to a comment that clearly was a factless fanboy sentiment with my own blatantly clear fanboy fanaticism (which was a tad more true if not slightly exaggerated).

Alike how you route for your own favorite team in your own favorite sport or other competitive event. Mine happens to be gaming, and while a a fan of a sport might perfer to watch thier own ]favorite team play, they generally enjoy watching other teams play said sport as well..

However I am not threatened at all, and actually believe that both consoles offer there own value to gamers. Further competition is good in any industry (shaddy buisness practices not so much).
