They don’t last 48 hours haha, I have one (3 actually), so stop exaggerating (lying), probably closer to 30 hours and less with rechargeables which deteriorate quicker than li-ion. Also the PS4 last about 10-12 if you turn down the speaker and light. A gaming session is about 3-5 hours, so ~10 hours is fine especially if you have two controllers!
Also you can’t compare a battery cost to a controller, that is just silly.. It’s about $6- + $10 + $50 for a decent charger (or there abouts).

You realise the ds4 Battery life is terrible right ? I’ve had problems in the past with my xb controllers bumpers breaking but it was such an ez and inexpensive fix … I’d rather have to replace my bumpers every 4-6 months than have to tether my controller to my console every 4-6 hours… One thing I’m dreading about buying my pro is having to use that terribly designed ps controller , which i know is gonna be too small for my adult hands… Not too mention the terrible placement of the thumbsticks
