It’s absokutely unacceptable with today’s solid state electronics. But it IS an Xbox console just the same. The Xbox circlejerk community would say “how dare you blame the Xbox One, blame the movie industry!

They just gave her a full refund so it wasn’t that bad, but to setup the console and plan your night in to watch a film only to be left with a faulty console and no film must have been gutting.

Oh wow. That’s not good at all. Quality control has never been a strong point with these Xbox branded electronics. Sorry to hear she had to go through all that.

You will laugh at this. My sister bought the Xbone S last night and bought some UHD-Blu-rays that was part of a store deal. Got home and setup the console.

Last night she sat down to watch a film with her partner only to see the light bleed problems and heard a grinding noise while playing the disc, and then within nearly an hour of watching the film the drive failed.

She took it all back today and got a full refund.

The best solution is to pack it up in the original box and return it with the purchase receipt where it will be exchanged for a newer one suffering from a different problem altogether. Meanwhile the returned one will be resealed and resold as new to the next customer. The next customer will then wonder how his brand new console got all these free games that he didn’t pay for. Hilariousness!
