It stopped be a contest, a console war, way back on May 21st, in 2013. It would be illogical to think that the people who didnt go Xbox already are suddenly going to go Xbox now, just because they finally have a more powerful console. Sony didnt just win the console war on raw power and 1080p resolutions. They also won on gamer friendly policies, and a huge host of Playstation single player exclusives.

With, the arrival of the Xbox One X in November, NOTHING HAS CHANGED for Sony. They still own the territory they took from MS, and the Xbox One X alone is not enough to challenge their market position, with the only strength being its raw power. They are clearly only marketing their product to the people who felt jilted by their original product. They are not in any way targeting the PS4 community with this system. My prediction is that due to the much higher cost of entry, the Xbox One X will fail this holiday as just being marketed as a more powerful Xbox One. Theyre just reheating the leftovers and re-selling their 2013 console fantasy to their current base, without a forced Kinect, and without any vision or any kind of sense of direction. I see the discount priced, and cleverly bundled PS4/PS4 Pro winning this holiday season very easily over desperate people trading in their old Xboxes.

I hope all consoles sell well as it would be sad for the gamer in the long run if they didn’t. We wouldn’t want to be stuck with one console that’s for sure.
