it varies on a game by game basis. Ive tested RE7, Far Cry Primal, Cities Skylines, Hitman (2012) and Cuphead…

The least impressive of the bunch is probably RE7. But i did notice much better texture pop-in, which makes the game way more immersive.

FCPrimal just looks stunning all around. Better load times, more/better textures and draw distances, and the color pallet strangely seems more vibrant.

Cities Skylines has the most night and day results. Mostly smoother frame rates and no stuttering. On a larger city, the camera would move slowly and it would chug when zooming in and out. but it is smooth as butter on the X. some texture popin still.

Hitman just looks fantastic with the performance patch. In addition to 60fps, the game just looks better overall.

…playing on the same 1080p 60″ LG television, all of the changes are very noticeable. and if I can say, somehow, the colors seem more vibrant and the darks seem darker and less washed out on the X. Not sure why.

The only game on this list I havent played on my old Xbox One S hardware is Cuphead. I can’t tell you how it compares, but cuphead on the X looks AMAZING in 60fps on my giant 60″ tv.

Lemme ask u; old unpatched games really look that good? Some have said yes, but in a minor way, others say yes it’s a substantial boost. And u can really feel smoother/less lag gameplay? I’m gonna get one next yr but it’s hard for me to believe the visuals and performance are THAT dam good…
