I would prefer if they didn’t mandate how the consoles are used but developers will likely always push visuals over frames, more so when the PC starts to pull away, also pressure will likely demand it, games at 30fps can look much better than games at 60fps, thats the real problem with a fixed platform, you only have so much resources, gamers are demanding better visuals with newer games, lowering the fps is the easy solution.

If all the games give the options of 4k or 1080p 60fps then that would be good but the truth is for most games it’s 1080p or 1440p using checkerboard, not exactly 4k that I had in mind, it would be like getting a DVD, the tv is using all sorts of upscaling tricks to improve the image and yes it does look better but compared to a bluray, it’s not even close, at least on the right screen, I think I’ll wait for true native 4k before jumping on that bandwagon.
