It’s sad that Microsoft has entirely abandoned the other living room “features” of the Xbox One.. Referring mainly to any media/content consumption other than gaming.. The Xbox One, once promoted by Microsoft Marketing as the only living room STB anyone would need, now falls so far behind everyone else in media content utilization that it’s become the only living room device for consumers that’s entirely useless for anything other than playing games.

Meanwhile Sony is growing it’s services and subscribers to their content services on the PS.. and getting very good reviews..

Not even the major tech rags will even mention Microsoft’s Groove music, or the Movies & TV services as they’re for the most part severely inferior and as a result practically unknown. Amazon still doesn’t have a Video On Demand app for Microsoft’s platform.

No one but gamers are interested in the Xbox. Microsoft has taken a great big dump on it’s consumer customers in 2016.

So Sony reacted to Nintendo, and Microsoft reacted to Sony and to a degree at Nintendo too on the console space. So it was Nintendo who ignited this intense competition.
