While Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was clearly a victim of a rushed launch, launching in a somewhat unpolished state last December, developers Monolith Soft have continued to hammer away at it ever since, with substantial updates that iron out the issues, while also adding substantial amounts of new content to the game.
The next major update for the game will be 1.4.0, and it is due to launch on April 27. Among other things, this update adds two new Rare Blades for you (including Poppi Buster, an artificial Blade that can be used by any character other than Tora), and T-elos Re:, another Blade made in cooperation with Bandai Namco.
Other stuff with this update includes Bards being able to trade EXP for Poppi parts, and new sorting options. Monolith Soft also confirmed that they “plan to add new quests, as well as even more new Rare Blades, challenge battles, an “Extreme” difficulty mode, and more for users who purchased the Expansion Pass.” On the whole, it seems like they have no intention of moving on from the game just yet.
Which is good-Xenoblade 2 is an amazing game, and it deserves this kind of support. It is available now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
