Nintendo and Monolith Soft’s upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles X, the spiritual successor to the Wii’s Xenoblade Chronicles, is almost here (it launches in the west next month, almost four years after it was originally revealed). The game promises some epic role playing and questing, as well as a sprawling open world.
Just how sprawling? Well, it looks to be big. According to Nintendo World Report, who did a full analysis of the game’s open world’s size, it is bigger than the worlds in Skyrim, Fallout 4, and Witcher 3… combined.
This makes some sense when Skyrim and Fallout 4 are considered, as, though dense, those worlds really aren’t all that big in terms of playable areas, but The Witcher 3’s game world is massive, providing players with a fully playable continent with three distinct kingdoms within it. That Xenoblade’s world is bigger than The Witcher’s, with Fallout and Skyrim’s worlds thrown on top, means its size is staggering- something that may have to do with the fact that the game’s mech suits, known as Skells, make traversal across the world easy and quick.
Still, though- just wow at the scale.
