Xenoblade Developer Monolith Soft Recruiting For Experienced Action Game Devs

Monolith preparing for their next grand adventure?

With Xenoblade 2‘s success firmly under their belt – the game has sold 1.3 million copies in four months on one platform (including exhibiting extraordinary legs in the slowest months of the year), and has received widespread acclaim and positive word of mouth from most people – it looks like developers Monolith Soft are already working hard on their next game.

And for that next game, it seems as though they are currently recruiting people who may be experienced in action game development (translated by JapaneseNintendo). The job listing itself is described as “urgent”. It comes off as significant, because for starters, Monolith’s Xenoblade series isn’t an action RPG in the strictest sense, and an “urgent” posting such as the one posted seems to indicate that development on the new game may be further along than one may have suspected.

Whatever the new game is, I hope it’s as great as Xenoblade 2 was, and I can’t wait for its official reveal. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, go play Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which is available now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
