Yakuza 3 missing 18% of content from Japanese version

That VideoGame Blog states that a couple of weeks before Yakuza 3 was releasing outside of Japan, SEGA announced that a small amount of content would be missing from the US and EU versions of the game. It was also stated that 99% of the game was still supposed to remain intact.

Now that the game has released, gamers who have already fought their way through the Japanese brawler have found that out of the 123 quests in the complete japanese version, 22 were cut, leaving the other versions with just 101 tasks to carry out.

The reason for these cuts could be due to localization time and expenses or SEGA’s reasoning that audiences out of Japan wouldn’t get the game. Promising 99% and then delivering 82% is a bit surprising.
