Remember when I noted that the Yakuza 6 demo is an unusually large 36GB yesterday? As it turns out, there was a reason it was as big as it was- apparently the entire damn game’s files are included in the demo download for some reason. In and of itself, this is a bit excessive, but it would have been fine if players had been unable to access any part of the game beyond the Prologue, which was what was intended.
As it turns out, players were very easily able to, with this free download, access the entire game. Which is- wait, how do you make this mistake? Why even have the full game’s files associated with the demo? What the heck, Sega?
So, yes, as you might expect, Sega has taken down the demo. They say they are looking into the issue, but I wouldn’t expect another demo- the game is due out in just a month and a half, and it’s probably going to be more feasible for Sega to just wait until it is than work on another demo.
