The gameplay belong on mobile devices simple as that. These sorts of games don’t push the boundaries on anything. The only indies that belong on a console or PC are games like star citizen, SoD, Minecraft and some platformers that try to be new and different not retro like this …. thing.
Seriously just look at steam and the amount of sh#t is on there, most of those “games” earn the “developers” money which is good for them but most people who buy those games are just allowing mediocrity to flourish. If you cant get your game to garner some interest and build funds on kick-starter I’m not interested.

Really? Have you played Rogue Legacy? Hotline Miami? There are many great games that don’t try to look amazing. They concentrate their efforts on gameplay. These games take more risk than big budget games that have no room for failure because of the expense in development. It takes talent having only one guy make a game like Fez or Bastion. It takes talent to make a Shovel Knight.

You can be shallow and think its on in the graphics but without good gameplay the graphics are meaningless. A game doesn’t need good graphics to be fun. The majority of the creative ideas are in the indie scene and they are passionate gamers themselves.

Should? Why should it? Its the style of the game. It has charm doing something different. All games don’t need to look realistic to be good games and to play good. Games are not fun because of graphics. Graphics just make games more immersive. Their is room for all type of games. There is no reason to be so hateful against indie titles.

No thats not what I said. It doesn’t have to be great graphics just not something that looks like it’s from the 70’s when I started gaming. Also it’s 2014 games should have decent graphics and great gameplay.

With new hardware and new immersive ways of gaming pushing the experience of gaming, to go back to that on a console or PC is a waste of money. These sorts of games are nothing more than a quick buck for minimal skill and talent.

Wow, I won’t use analogies just for you. This game is good for the Gameboy maybe even Gameboy colour(that’s the kind of old hardware that could run it), it has no place on a console other than a filler for downtime between big releases. The game is not full price(rightfully so), it’s closer to the price of a micro transaction and will be as fulfilling as one.

I am 35 and been gaming since I was a kid. I don’t care about graphics. Graphics don’t make a game good. If you have a problem because it doesn’t look good than your taste in games is shallow. Games don’t play good and are innovative because of graphics. Gameplay is the center most important thing that makes a game good or bad.

No its not a mobile game. Its not a micro transaction. Do you even know what a micro transaction is? This is a full game. A micro transaction is a small piece of DLC that you can buy for an existing game.
