Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Wii U, Switch Versions Compared

Loading times in both also compared.

Comparison videos are starting to emerge between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Wii U and Switch. IGN and Arekkz Gaming already have their videos up which you can see below.

Though YouTube compression is responsible for hiding the differences in resolution, both versions look remarkably close to each other. There are some differences though and the Switch version does manage to come out on top visually, if only slightly.

A NeoGAF user also compared the loading times between the game being installed on the Wii U’s internal memory vs. the Switch playing it off of the memory card. This is after patch 1.1 and the Switch’s Day 1 firmware update.

Starting a new game and resetting to the title screen are slightly faster on the Switch but loading and finishing the first shrine are clearly faster on the Wii U. Hitting Game Over in a late game section was also quicker in the Wii U’s case.
