After laying off some of the people in their employment and shuttering 13 games earlier, Zynga was in trouble as it is, but now the firm has gone ahead and reported a loss of $52.7 million during Q3 and $160.9 million between 1st January and 30th September.
The FarmVille 2 developer may not be going so well in the earnings department, but the business revenue has actually gone up year-over-year. The revenue’s gone up to $316.6 million for Q3 over last year’s $306.8 million. For the nine month period, it’s gone up by $141.2 million from last year’s $828.9 million to $970.1 million.
FarmVille 2 and ChefVille are actually ranked No. 1 and No. 3 on Facebook, Zynga noted, with the former having garnered 61 million players in terms of monthly activity and 500,000 unique players playing actively (approximately).
On iOS 6, Zynga CEO and founder Mark Pincus said, quite optimistically: “They’re reducing the amount of friction people have to access the App Store.”
However, he gave no projections during a financial call for 2013. He said: “We’re not giving specific guidance on what our growth is going to look like in 2013.”
