The latest game from Vanillaware, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, was quite the departure for the developer. The company had stayed in the fantasy lane for most of their games, so the hard shift to mecha sci-fi was something interesting for sure. But it hit a snag, with the Vita version being cancelled and the PS4 version being delayed indefinitely. It left many wondering if it would even come out. Well, the game has now returned, and will release in Japan almost one year after its indefinite delay in November- and along with it we get a very lengthy look at the game.
The release date was officially announced in a press release sent out by publisher Atlus. Shortly afterward, they released an extended gameplay preview that shows gameplay for two of the key characters, and then a battle simulation. The footage is all in Japanese, but you can get a good idea of what the game will look and play like.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will release on November 28th in Japan on PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, no release date was announced for outside the region. We’ll keep you updated in case there’s any news on that front.
