That 1200 pc also won’t run all modern games at 4k, won’t be same form factor, won’t have a 4k blue ray player etc. The whole article was based on a stupid question. The Xbox one isn’t the most powerful gaming device but it is powerful for a console and more powerful than most pcs

I am sure it has everything to do with the deal with Sony which is a VERY good deal for Bungie / Activision. I didn’t hear many complaints from Xbox 360 players when Microsoft was negotiating similar deals with publishers and studios.

Where is your evidence of this other than your completely 1 sided point of view on anything dealing with PlayStation vs Xbox? Microsoft’s own press announcements about the Pre-Orders was utter nonsense. They said it was their best console pre-orders ever, but console pre-orders are a relatively new phenomenon and the Xbox brand is only on it’s 3rd iteration of the product line. They did not provide hard numbers — the only reason they would have curtailed that information is because it did not support the marketing messaging.

If the Xbox One X had robust pre-orders do you really think MS would have been so coy about the numbers?

If the Xbox One X does not sell well in the long term, developers will not opt to optimize games for Xbox One X. They may even opt to port the PS4 Pro code to Xbox One X and be done with it. If PS4 Pro has the larger install base developers and publishers would be keen to support that wider audience.

In case you haven’t been paying attention it is much MUCH easier to port to/code for X1X.

Xbox One X doesn’t have any major advantages over PS4 Pro in terms of development.

PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X (now that they dropped the stupid and expensive ESRAM) are all easy to develop for. You are splitting hairs here bro.

All games on PS4 Pro are enhanced. Not all have PS4 Pro patches, some games haven’t received patches but still have settings for PS4 Pro (IE: Ark Survival Evolved).

PS4 Pro patches won’t require a huge footprint on your hard drive. They way it sounds on Xbox One X you are going to be lucky if you can fit 10 Xbox One X enhanced games on a 1 TB hard drive. Due to the 4K assets which will take up to 100GB (or perhaps more) chunk out of your drive for each title.

There are plenty of games that do support PS4 Pro and more on the way. Some of these games support native 4K You should really do a little research before you open your uninformed pie hole.

We will see. Xbox One X definitely has that capability but it depends on the developer. Certainly the boost mode on Xbox One X will be more robust, but that isn’t exactly taking advantage of all the enhancements.

Then you have the issue of diminishing returns. Simply put just because Xbox One X has 30% more GPU processing power (TFLOPS) doesn’t mean the results will be 30% better.

For proof of this I invite you to look over the differences between games for the PS1 and the PS2, PS2 and PS3, PS3 and PS4, PS4 and PS4 Pro.

PS3 – 228.8 GFLOPS or 0.2888 TFLOPS

Think of this as an amplifier for a stereo system. If you have a 100W amp and you want to play music TWICE as loud the 200W amp won’t do. A 1000W amp would be required.

The great thing about the PS4 Pro is the Rapid Packed Math will *help* eliminate the TFLOP advantage that the Xbox One X has. I am pretty sure MS was well aware of this which is why they added the additional GDDR5 RAM. Sony simply won’t be able to “answer” that until the next generation.

$2000? You really think MS has created a $500 console that will keep up with a $2000 system? I bet by the time the Xbox One X comes out you will be able to build a competing system for less than $1000. Unless Microsoft is subsidizing the hardware there is no way their cost efficiency is that high.

If people are shopping 100% on the hardware the Xbox One X will provide a great value. The problem is people buy consoles for games. MS simply has no more Xbox One Exclusives. Sony has plenty of first party studios that create games you simply can’t play on ANY OTHER PLATFORM.

If consumers were driven by hardware alone the original Xbox would have sold circles around the PS2.

Xbox 360 was eventually outsold by the PS3, even though the X360 had a year head start. The PlayStation Portable sold almost as much as the Xbox 360.

Is it hip to hate on MS? Didn’t Microsoft make their own bed this generation when they first revealed their Always Online DRM-BOX? Microsoft shoots itself in the foot. The reveal of the Xbox One was awful.

Months before the reveal there were leaks about Microsoft’s plans and gamers were not down with their design. They didn’t change course. They went to E3 announced their system and people reacted the same way.

Not to mention how MS wanted to make Xbox One a big fancy DVR box that no one was interested in. They had to do nearly a complete U-Turn just to keep their base interested.

So how is it “hip” for people to hate on MS? I think they did enough of their own and deserve the ire of the gaming community.

MS HAD to make a change. HAD TO! I notice you didn’t even mention that MS largely copied the PS4 design for the Xbox One X. Notice the lack of expensive and hard to code for ESRAM? Notice they didn’t use DDR3 RAM and used GDDR5 RAM? If Cerny is such the clown as you suggest why did Microsoft copy his design? If the PS4 is such a piece of crap — why would Microsoft duplicate it?

As it stands now the Xbox One Standard is now the black sheep SKU. Just due to it being so different.

The PS4 Pro offers hard core PlayStation gamers an option to update. It was a brilliant move on Sony’s part and the platform doesn’t require sales to be as robust as PS4 for it to be a success.

Rapid Packed Math is a real thing. The reason why Xbox idiots like you want to dismiss it is because it nearly erases one of the big advantages that the Xbox One X has which is greater GPU processing power.

Feel free to bury you head in the sand, but this feature is available on the PS4 Pro.

I saved for quite a while and have built my whole setup over time. Once I figured I could save $100 a month by not buying a redbull every day I started looking at other vices or things I just didn’t “need” that I could cut out. I also bought the tv the week AFTER the Superbowl and saved myself $1000.

It’s amazing how quickly you can save up if you cut out simple things from your daily life. Another one I was shocked by was coffee. I’ve saved a ton of money just by buying beans and a grinder to make it myself instead of buying it at Dunkin donuts.

So I just keep doing that even if I don’t have a something I’m planning on buying. That way when something I want that’s expensive comes around I’m ready. Also helps in emergency situations.
