Dani Sánchez-Crespo, CEO of PSP games studio Novarama says the alleged PS Vita RAM cuts are not a bad thing at all. In fact, he feels they will be “good for developers to work under constraint.”
Speaking with Develop, when asked if the RAM cuts will be a problematic issue, he said: “No that won’t affect us. It’s actually good for developers to work under constraint. Generally for Vita, we still have a whole lot of headroom in terms of GPU power, CPU power and indeed RAM”.
It was previously hinted at that the non-3G models of Vita may have had their RAMs cut down from 512 MB to 256 MB, so that they could price it more reasonably.
Sony would be very unhappy to see that they will definitely have to slash the price even more now, since Nintendo has brought down the 3DS’ price from $250 to $180- an $80 price slash.
