Amazon Will Honor PS4 Pre-Orders Regardless of Changes to Payment Method

Amazon holds up it's end.

With the release of the PlayStation 4 fast approaching, many gamers have expressed worry that changing the payment method with which they purchased the console for pre-order will mean that – gasp! – they won’t receive their consoles on release day. That is, those that paid, but have since switched their bank account or primary payment method on Amazon.

According to Amazon, however, they are well aware of this potential issue, and are on top of it. They are claiming that gamers who have pre-ordered their PlayStation 4 will receive them on release day regardless of switches to payment methods, so long as the new method of payment doesn’t hinder the transaction from going through.

The worry arose when, after changing their primary payment methods, several Amazon customers received emails verifying payment on the PS4 months after having placed their orders successfully. The worry was that with the re-confirmation, that shipping dates would be re-estimated based on the date of the confirmation, which certainly wouldn’t have resulted in a day-of receipt of the console.

But worry not, fans, Amazon has promised to uphold all pre-order dates at the time the order was made.
