An XCOM-Style Game with Marvel Heroes is in Development at Firaxis – Rumour

The developer of XCOM and Civilization is allegedly working on a turn-based strategy game starring Marvel superhero characters.

In case E3’s year off in 2020 made you forget, here’s a reminder- the closer we get to E3, the more we begin seeing leaks of exciting upcoming games. There’s been a pretty packed leak of several games in development at studios across 2K games over on Reddit, with details being corroborated by GamesBeat, VGC, and Jason Schreier on Twitter. In addition to stuff like a new Borderlands spinoff, another game that’s been leaked is a project in the works at Firaxis Games.

The studio, known for turn-based strategy games in the XCOM series and grand strategy titles in the Civilization series, is bringing some of its strategic flair to Marvel properties. The leak describes the game as an XCOM-style title with Marvel superheroes in it- so imagine a turn-based strategy title in which you’re commanding a squad that includes everyone from Captain America and Thor to Wolverine and the Incredible Hulk.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said quite recently that Firaxis is working on “several exciting projects in development that will be revealed this year.” This would certainly fit the bill. Take-Two has confirmed presence at E3 as well, so there’s a chance this gets announced there.
