Apple officially unveils the new iPad – it’s a beauty

Apple has revealed the new iPad and it’s the talk of the town. They call it “resolutionary”, and for a good reason. The new iPad supports an incredibly high resolution: 2048 x 1536 which is approx. 3.1 million pixels.

It has an incredible depth per image amount to 264, and Apple has called it a Retina display. All these specs fall in line with the rumours, and the new iPad has close to 1GB RAM, which is way more than the PS3 or Xbox 360.

It also has a dual core processor and a quad core GPU, which is almost close to what the Vita’s specs are. The device also supports 1080p resolution.

They have also revealed the pricing: 16GB is $499; the 32GB is $599; the 64GB is $699. This is quite similar to the iPad 2, and the new iPad also supports 4G, and is priced at: $629, $729 and $829.

The device launches on March 16th in select countries, and March 23rd everywhere.
