Assassin’s Creed Unity PC Patch Weighs In At 2.9GB On Steam

A hefty patch arrives on PC

As you may have read elsewhere, or even on this very site, Ubisoft’s latest patch is out and it’s now available on Steam for users to download. The rather hefty patch comes onto the scene at 2.9GB’s and includes a number of “fixes”.

Funnily enough, the Steam version got updated before Uplay, it would seem Ubisoft can’t even prioritize their patches properly. Some of the “fixes” included in the patch are improvements to the games overall stability, overall performance and save game issues.

The PC specifics updates included “fixes” on a crash on “quit to windows” when free roaming, TXAA and PCSS issues, NPC textures, black textures appear when using MSAA 4x and MSAA 8x & TXAA amongst minor UI tweaks. Previously, for some reason, Right Ctrl couldn’t be used as a hotkey, though now it can.

Given the size of the patch, there are expected to be numerous unlisted attempted fixes in the patch, but they don’t detail everything. Though you will notice a distinct lack of FPS related improvements.
