Battlefield: Bad Company Team “On a Long Vacation”, Will Return After Completing Other Projects

DICE's not-too-serious first person shooter isn't dead or forgotten by any means.

If you think that DICE is beyond caring about the Bad Company franchise, then think again. According to creative director Lars Gustavsson at a recent DICE event, the Bad Company team are only taking a long vacation and will be looking to return to the franchise once other titles have been wrapped up.

“My feeling is that I would love to do it. For me, when we started the company with 1942, it was really a work of passion. And then we worked our way through the era of different wars, and I loved them all, like my little babies. When it came to Bad Company, it was creative freedom; don’t take yourself too seriously.

“But trust me, the Bad Company [team] isn’t forgotten, they are just on a very long vacation. So they are out there, they’re coming back.”

Currently, DICE is busy with Battlefield 4, Mirror’s Edge and Star Wars: Battlefront, with the latter two slated to release on next gen consoles sometime in the next two years. Meanwhile, Battlefield 4 launches on October 29th in North America for current-gen, with next gen releases on Xbox One and PS4 due in November.
