Battlefield Hardline, the newly announced shooter being developed by Visceral that isn’t Battlefield in anything but name, recently had a trailer leak of a build that is a few months old, and allegedly, the leaked footage was running on a PlayStation 4… which would create some issues, since the leaked footage was also running at only 30 frames per second. While that is acceptable at the best of times, it would be disappointing if a ‘next gen’ Battlefield game was still stuck in the 30 FPS ghetto.
Of course, it is also to be remembered that this is a very early build of the game, and that the final one may in fact run at 60FPS. But given how consistently the game seemed to be targeting 30FPS in the leaked footage, there is a very high possibility that it was just designed from the ground up around the assumption that it would be 30FPS.
Who knows? We’ll keep you posted.
